  What motivates you to want to become a PCAS School Board member?

  • My daughter, Maryam, attends PCAS, and I wish to contribute my knowledge and expertise to insh Allah help make it a better school!

  • Islamic Education
  • Mathematics
  • Student Activities (MIST, MYPC)

 Name three things that you believe PCAS needs to improve.

  • More foreign language options (Asian, European, etc)
  • Teacher certifications (including special needs)
  • Federal/State tests, competitions (ACT/SAT, etc)

 How would you advocate for these needs as a PCAS School Board member?

  • I’d advocate by seeking sponsors or sponsorships and community outreach and participation. For example, we could get certain businesses to sponsor PCAS in STEM programs.

 What do you see as the primary work of a school board?

  • I believe the school board represents the interest of the students and their parents and must work accordingly with school faculty to foster a safe and successful learning environment.

 What kind of relationship should the board have with its school community (Parents, students, faculty)?   With the outside community (Masjid, Bay District, Panama City)?

  • The board should always represent the needs of the students and parents to create the conditions for student success.

 Do you have any educational experience or background?

  • I been an adjunct professor with GCSC for 5 years, and I’ve tutored for many years informally.

 Do you have the sufficient time/energy to devote to this position?

  • Yes, I strongly believe in child education and development. I’ve served before on the Rising Leaders School Board for 6 years since its founding! I only resigned not long after my children stop attending.

  • No

 What motivates you to want to become a PCAS School Board member?

  • I care about our children in our school as well care about parents and help our teacher

 Name three things that you believe that PCAS does well.

  • High quality education
  • Rise the Islamic teaches and manners
  • Rise the self esteem of the students

 Name three things that you believe PCAS needs to improve.

  • Get the students to love the school
  • Get the parents to be more involved in the school
  • Raise the quality of education

 How would you advocate for these needs as a PCAS School Board member?

  • Try to mend the relation between parents and school and get them to be more involved in school
  • Get the students to love their school and be proud to be a PCAS student

 What do you see as the primary work of a school board?

  • An effective school board plays an important watchdog role in keeping our school on track, and setting policies that affect our children and our school. The school board sets the vision and goals for our school. One school board member cannot do the job alone. Effective school board members contribute their unique talents while collaborating and working as a team with other board members

 What kind of relationship should the board have with its school community (Parents, students, faculty)?   With the outside community (Masjid, Bay District, Panama City)?

  • I believe that the relationship between the board and the school community should be strong and going on one direction to help our school succeed on its mission

  • No I don’t have any educational experience but was PCAS PTO President for the 2017-2018 School year

 What motivates you to want to become a PCAS School Board member?

  • Hands-on role in changing the school for the better.  

 Name three things that you believe that PCAS does well.

  • Teaches good basic Islamic principles in students.
  • Instills  a good sense of community in students.
  • Dual Enrollment program is very efficient.  

 Name three things that you believe PCAS needs to improve.

  • Standardized curriculum for all classes.
  • Professional teachers for each class.
  • Improve in the number of students enrolled in each class.  

 How would you advocate for these needs as a PCAS School Board member?

  • Continuously recruit more students.
  • Recruit higher tier teachers to improve our school

 What do you see as the primary work of a school board?

  • Changing the school for the better to help prepare our kids to be a role model as good Muslims and successful in their lives.

 What kind of relationship should the board have with its school community (Parents, students, faculty)? With the   outside community (Masjid, Bay District, Panama City)?

  • Good relationship based on communication with each other.

  • Bachelor degree in pharmacy.

  • I will try to make time.

  • Quality of elementary school education

  • Work with the principal and staff
  • Become a liaison between board and students.

  • Oversee future growth and improvements
